Auto Glass Damage AAA Comprehensive Coverage May Cover
Comprehensive insurance may cover auto glass damage caused by something other than a collision, including road debris striking your windshield, falling tree limbs, hail, storms, vandalism, theft, and contact with an animal. Depending on your policy and how the damage occurred, coverage may apply to your windshield, door windows, back glass, quarter glass, and other automobile safety glass. Damage caused by a collision with another vehicle or object may fall under collision coverage instead. A small windshield chip may be repairable, while a shattered window or severely cracked windshield will usually require replacement. AAA will also determine whether related work such as
ADAS calibration is included in an approved windshield claim.
What South Carolina No-Deductible Auto Glass Coverage Means
South Carolina is considered a no-deductible state for automobile safety glass because the law currently prevents a physical-damage policy deductible from being applied to covered safety-glass work. If AAA approves a qualifying windshield or car window claim under applicable coverage, you may not have to pay the usual comprehensive or collision deductible for that glass service. The cause of the damage, the glass involved, and the terms of your policy still matter.
